Anderson St. Park

Located in the heart of Hackensack at the corner of Anderson St. and Union St, this small, picturesque park was the site of HSC's first Hackensack showing of King Lear in 2002.  Providing dramatic backdrops with its surrounding historical churches and municipal buildings, Anderson St. Park provides a perfect and convenient setting for an outdoor showings.  Renovated in 1996 for the citizens of Hackensack, a plaque (pictured below) located just off the center of the park marks the dedication.  See below for driving and parking directions and other park information.  To see pictures from productions held at Anderson St. Park click on the play title:  A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Getting to Anderson St. Park:

Using NYC Bus:  From Port Authority take the 165 NJ Transit Bus and get off at the stop of Main St & Anderson St, at the Sears building.   Walk down one block Anderson St and the park will be on your left.  Please check njtransit.com for a complete bus schedule.

From NYC Driving:  Drivers may use any of the 3 main Hudson River crossings to access US-80 West to get to Hackensack. Taking the George Washington Bridge connects directly with to Route 80 West.  Taking the Lincoln Tunnel and following signs to NJ Turnpike N (toll road) and then connecting with I-80 W following signs for Hackesnack/Paterson.  Taking the Holland Tunnel, bear right on to the NJ Turnpike North/Newark Bay extension (toll road) and follow signs for NJ Turnpike N leading to 80 West.  Follow directions for I-80 W below in the NJ Driving section.

NJ Driving 80 W: Note:  For 2004, Route US-80 is under heavy construction around the Hackensack exits, please allow for extra time when using this highway.    From I-80 W,  take the exit number 66- toward HUDSON ST/HACKENSACK/LITTLE FERRY.  Turn RIGHT onto KENNEDY ST.  Turn LEFT onto CR-503/S RIVER ST.  Turn LEFT onto E ANDERSON ST/CR-62.  Proceed along, E ANDERSON ST until it dead ends into the park.  Street Parking is available around the park.

NJ Driving I-80 E: Note:  For 2004, Route US-80 is under heavy construction around the Hackensack exits, please allow for extra time when using this highway.  From I-80 E, take he exit number 66- toward HUDSON ST/HACKENSACK/LITTLE FERRY.  Make a left at the stop sign on to Hudson St.  This street changes into Main St. after the Essex St. intersection.  Turn LEFT onto E ANDERSON ST/CR-62.  Proceed along, E ANDERSON ST until it dead ends into the park.  Street Parking is available around the park.

NJ Driving RT-4 W:  Take Hackensack Ave S and make a right on to E ANDERSON ST (Sears building on the corner) until it dead ends into the park.  Street Parking is available around the park.

NJ Driving RT-4 E: Take Hackensack Ave N and make a right on to E ANDERSON ST (Sears building on the corner) until it dead ends into the park.  Street Parking is available around the park.
