The Hackensack Town Green located across from the Bergen County Courthouse surrounds one of the oldest and historic sections in Hackensack.  Flanked by Main St. and Church St., the area serves as the administrative and judicial center for Bergen County.  The park area contains several monuments to past wars and serves as the main ceremony area for annual Memorial and Veteran's Day commemorations.  Below, please find directions, parking information and pictures for this venue.  See below for driving and parking directions and other park information.   To see pictures from productions held at Hackensack Town Green click on the play title: Coriolanus

Getting to Hackensack Town Green  

Using NYC Bus:  From Port Authority take the 165 NJ Transit Bus and ask the bus driver to let you off Courthouse at the corner of MAIN ST & COURT ST.  Walk down one block down COURT ST., building on will be right and the park to your left.

From NYC Driving:  Drivers may use any of the 3 main Hudson River crossings to access US-80 West to get to Hackensack.  Note:  For 2004, Route US-80 is under heavy construction around the Hackensack exits, please allow for extra time when using this highway.  Taking the George Washington Bridge connects directly with to Route 80 West.  Taking the Lincoln Tunnel and following signs to NJ Turnpike N (toll road) and then connecting with I-80 W following signs for Hackesnack/Paterson.  Taking the Holland Tunnel, bear right on to the NJ Turnpike North/Newark Bay extension (toll road) and follow signs for NJ Turnpike N leading to 80 West.  Follow directions for I-80 W below in the NJ Driving section.

NJ Driving 80 W: Note:  For 2004, Route I-80 is under heavy construction around the Hackensack exits, please allow for extra time when using this highway.  From I-80 W,  take the exit number 66- toward HUDSON ST/HACKENSACK/LITTLE FERRY.  Turn LEFT at the traffic light onto HUDSON ST.  Proceed through several traffic lights to passing KANSAS ST.  HUDSON will become MAIN ST, bear right on to MAIN and proceed one block up to SUSSEX ST.  Park along this street and walk to Courthouse.  Courthouse ST is blocked off for performances.  Walk down one block down COURT ST., building on will be right and the park to your left.  

NJ Driving I-80 E: From I-80 E, take he exit number 66- toward HUDSON ST/HACKENSACK/LITTLE FERRY.  Make a left at the stop sign on to Hudson St.  Proceed through several traffic lights to passing KANSAS ST.  HUDSON will become MAIN ST, bear right on to MAIN and proceed one block up to SUSSEX ST.  Park along this street and walk to Courthouse.  Courthouse ST is blocked off for performances.  Walk down one block down COURT ST., building on will be right and the park to your left.  

NJ Driving RT-4 W:  Take Hackensack Ave S.  Go down Hackesack Ave (which changes to RIVER ST after SEARS), make a right at BRIDGE ST. and proceed one block to MAIN ST.  Bergen County Courthouse is within one block of the courthouse.  Street parking is usually available on BRIDGE ST or surrounding side streets off of MAIN.
